I do not advocate the death penalty but I do respect each society's own rules and regulations. Nguyen was aware of the risks and made the decision to proceed to transport drugs. Had he succeeded he would have let loose 400grams of heroin into Australian society. He certainly does not deserve death but I don't think we'd be holding vigils for the victims that may have OD'd on the drugs had he succeeded.
