India shows the way on death penalty
The Indian Government has declared that extradited gangster and underworld don Abu Salem would not be punished with the death penalty or with a prison term exceeding 25 years, as per the solemn guarantee given to the Portuguese Government...Salem is facing the charge of supplying arms and ammunitions for the blasts in Mumbai. He is also involved in the Pradeep Jain murder case of 1995, for which he is presently in custody of the Anti-Terrorist Squad of Mumbai police.
